Portia Lee James DeGeneres, known professionally by her pseudonym Portia de Rossi, is a famous Australian-American model acting, actress and philanthropist. When she was 15 years old, she legally changed her name by adopting that Italian title "de Rossi" which was glamorous. She adopted the name "Portia" of Shakespeare's production of The Merchant of Venice. Portia thinks that this was the most daring thing she's ever attempted and claimed that the desire to change her name due to her struggle about her sexual identity. Portia began her career in film with a romantic comedy drama called 'Sirens' where she was a part of the cast alongside Hugh Grant.
